In an effort to make it so that we can still accept new patients, and assist those with new injuries, booking is only done a month and a half in advance. If you are looking for an appointment sooner than what you see available, we encourage you to add your name to our waitlist!

Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are health care professionals who use a variety of safe and effective manual approaches to restore and maintain optimal health, and pain-free function of the body. All massage appointments include time for assessment, treatment, charting, and giving any applicable home care.

*Please note: Lara’s treatments are of an orthopedic and rehabilitative nature. Lara does not provide “full body” or “relaxation” massages; if that is what you are looking for, Lara may not be the right RMT for you.

Much of Lara’s child, and young-adult hood were spent in a dance studio. Starting from a young age, Lara spent 20 years in the studio as a student, youth company member, independent artist and instructor. Lara spent time as a member of both Dancestreams Youth Dance Company, and the Arts Umbrella Senior Dance Company, and was honoured to be named the winner of the Senior Ballet category at the BC Provincial Festival of the Arts. Anatomy and manual therapy play a large part in one’s life as a dancer, and as such, seemed a natural career choice to transition into when she decided to leave the dance world behind. A graduate of the West Coast College of Massage therapy in New Westminster, Lara spent time during her practicum working with the UBC Cross Country running team, at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre and in the pre and post natal units at BC Women’s hospital. One of the highlights of Lara’s career to date, is spending four summers as a member of the BC Bike Race Wellness Team; helping mountain bikers from around the world complete a grueling seven day stage race. Whether it’s working with athletes to aid in injury prevention or recovery, providing symptomatic relief for chronic conditions, or simply to help your body deal with your daily life stresses, Lara’s goal is to get you back doing what you love!
